Melissa is the founder of Integrative Massage Therapy and a licensed massage therapist.  Her journey with wealthiness and personal care started over 20 years ago when she became a certified yoga teacher. Later, Melissa extended her knowledge by becoming a certified Personal Trainer and Pilates instructor and teaching fitness classes like kettlebell and belly dancing.  Through Yoga and other forms of exercise Melissa's awareness of how movement (or lack of it), muscular imbalances, stress, and injuries effected people on a daily basis. It was later during a cadaver class, just a simple interest in what our muscles really look like, that Melissa's interest began to change.

In 2011 Melissa was introduced to massage therapy and immediately enrolled at North Eastern Institute of Whole Health, (one of the top massage schools in the nation at that time). While in school Melissa also attended Cortiva Institute of Boston for advanced massage training.  Melissa has been trained in various styles and forms of bodywork like Lomi Lomi, Thai massage, and cupping.  However, at this time her main focus is post-opt lymphatic massage and or issue specific / injury related focus massage therapy. Because she tends to work in a more clinical manner she does not offer massage for general relaxation.

At this time, Melissa is unable to accept new clients.

A few words about us

Sarahgraduated from the Cortiva Instiute in Newington, Connecticut in 2018. Since then, I have received continuing education in prenatal massage, Thai on the table and orthopedic assessment. My approach to massage is to flow through our time together adding transitioning between each stroke to allow my client to enter a dreamy state regardless of pressure. Using my knowledge of orthopedic assessment, deep tissue, table Thai massage and acupressure I customize the session to my client’s needs. I love doing yoga in my free time so I try to incorporate stretching into my session as well as give my clients yoga postures that may benefit them.

Since our start, in 2013 we have offered a full range of services including Swedish, Deep tissue, Trigger point, Cupping, Lomi Lomi, Hot Stones, Prenatal, and Lymphatic Drainage Massage.  More recently we have began specializing in issue specific treatments like massage for TMJ syndrome, cupping for carpal tunnel syndrome, area specific injuries and more.

We are located at 815 Court St, inside the Cheshire Chiropractic Center/ Wellness Way, creating a wonderful opportunity for clients to have access to the many different healing treatments offered under the same roofs.  Our goal is to offer personalized therapeutic massage and bodywork.

Our massage treatments often tend to be more clinical then pampering allowing use to get to the source of your issues in an effort to reduce pain and stiffness.  We encourage our clients to give feedback during the treatment so we can give you the best massage.

Emily's  goal is to incorporate long, flowing strokes while also creating a therapeutic experience to bring relief to acute or chronic dysfunction. She typically uses a deep tissue and Myofascial approach, but can also provide a gentle relaxation massage upon request. Emily strives to not only deliver an enjoyable massage, but also offer methods for continual self-care at home.  Each massage that she gives is thoroughly designed to cater to each individual client’s needs.
